Exams and Consultations

Our staff will get a chance to talk to you and see if you are having any trouble with your animal. We will also go over diet, preventative medicine, and exercise to ensure that your animal is as healthy as possible. Then, Dr. Kacey Johnson will do a complete physical examination on your animal. Our goal is to catch any problems before they become major ones. The sooner that we are able to catch a problem, the easier it is to treat it and the more likely that your animal will make a full recovery!

Medical Treatment

Jonesboro Animal Clinic has the knowledge and supplies that are necessary to treat a variety of illnesses/injuries in all species. Dr. Johnson has a special interest in internal medicine and has gained experience in treating numerous diseases. We commonly treat animals as outpatients for minor conditions. However, we have the capability to keep your dog/cat in the hospital for more intensive treatment. If your pet has to remain in the hospital, we strive to make it a comfortable experience for them. We work hard to ensure that your pet can return to its normal, healthy self. We also offer treatment for various types of emergencies for dogs, cats, horses, cattle, goats, sheep and pigs.

Dr. Johnson is very experienced in a variety of general surgical procedures for dogs, cats, horses, cattle, goats, sheep, and pigs. We strive to utilize the latest medical technology and procedures when operating on your animal. We also realize that it can be stressful to have your animal undergo surgery. We want to assure you that your animal is in good hands, and that we will do everything to provide the best care possible. We will communicate with you about the things you need to know before, during, and after your pet’s surgery. It is our goal to make the entire process go smoothly, and to eliminate the stress and worry of surgical procedures.

Proper oral care is very important for all species. If the mouth is neglected, your animal can experience pain, infection, digestive issues and weight loss. In order to prevent these serious issues, we provide routine dental cleanings, teeth extractions and minor oral surgery for dogs and cats. We can also provide sedation and teeth floating for your horses.

There are a variety of contagious diseases which can affect our animals. Therefore, proper vaccination is vital to protect them from many different types of illnesses. It’s important to consult with us about the unique risks of living in our region. We will be happy to discuss the benefits of protecting your pet/herd with vaccinations. We can also provide you with information on the required vaccinations for your animal.

Microchipping is a safe and effective way of tracking an individual animal. A microchip could ensure that a lost pet is found and returned safely to it’s owner. A microchip may also be required for certain tests in large animals.

Preventative Medicine

We highly recommend bringing your pet in for regular exams. Regular checkups allow us to establish a baseline and make us aware of any changes that occur in your pet’s health. Often times minor health problems that go undetected can become more serious issues when left untreated. So, checkups are important even when your pet appears healthy.

Our hospital provides a wide variety of in-house diagnostic testing with the most state of the art technology available. Some of the services that we provide include: digital radiography, CBC/Chemistry Panels, heartworm tests, and a variety of other disease screening tests. We also routinely send samples to the lab for more in-depth testing. It is our goal to provide your animal with the highest level of care possible, and our diagnostic tools help us do that.

We offer a fully stocked pharmacy to fill your animal’s prescription needs. Having an on-site pharmacy provides you with a more convenient way to get your animal’s medication. We hope that this will save you time and ultimately enhance your experience with us.

We offer boarding services for your dog/cat. If your pet boards with us, they will be fed and watered twice a day, walked 3 times a day, monitored closely for changes in behavior or physical status, and loved/cared for just as if they were our own pets! Boarding at our clinic should give you peace of mind that your pet is being well taken care of while you are away.

Farm Calls

We offer farm call services for large animals Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Scheduling a farm call could make it more convenient for you to have your animals vaccinated, castrated or tested for various diseases. A farm call also allows for treatment of down/injured animals that are unable to be hauled in to the clinic. Feel free to contact us at 395-2273 to schedule your farm call.
